ReplyDeleteThe Catholic hospital has a roving clergy who visits individuals needing a up-lifting word of healing and encouragement. Discussions are about themselves, religion, and many subjects which can be general in nature and just enjoyable. The change the clergy introduces is very pleasing as compared with the medical practitioner, who is instilling various degrees of anxiety and always in a rush. Each A.M. a prayer is broadcast over the PA system, by the clergy, for all to listen to. There appears to be a total absence of observation by staff. The clergy agree. The absence of acknowledgement began when the church was removed from management of the hospital.
